Dark Sky Reserve
Nature’s disco ball; a canopy of over 2000 stars!
You don't need to be an astronomer to enjoy the wonder of a dark sky. We feel feel truly blessed to be situated in 1 of only 20 Dark Sky Reserves in the world.

Around 85% of the UK population have never seen a truly dark sky. So for an astronomic experience (that won't cost the universe), head to AberGlamping for unrivalled stargazing.
On a clear night the skies above the campsite come alive with billions of twinkling stars you can see with the naked eye (you heard us, no telescope required).

You can see the Milky Way, major constellations, a plethora of planets, bright nebulas and even dazzling meteor showers. It’s enough to make anyone starry eyed.

As a Dark Sky friendly location and to help you take full advantage of the night sky we have provided you with star charts, binoculars, warm blankets, outdoor seating and a firepit to enjoy the evening in comfort.

You can sleep under the stars in one of our Glamping domes!

-
LAYERS - It can get chilly sitting out in the night air, we can often be found wearing 6 layers of clothing when stargazing. Keeping warm next to the fire whilst waiting can be super cosy.
-
SNACKS - A tasty snack and something warm to drink will keep spirits up, because... well, why not?
-
LIGHTS - Switch lanterns and lights off, if you need a light red light does not impact on your dark-adapted vision.
-
BINOCULARS - They are easy to use, inexpensive and can be found in our domes :) They provide a wider view than a telescope so it is easier to find objects in the sky.
-
STAR CHART /APP - Have an app or chart to hand to help you identify what you can see.
